PERFORMANCE

To address the "televison audience" you must stare into the center of the lense on the "on air" camera

  • practice your lines by reading them outloud.
  • place a can at eye level with the top or bottom facing you as if it were the camera lense
  • look directly into the center of the lense and read your lines
  • relax and take a deep breath before you begin
  • don't talk too fast
  • pronounce as clearly as you can
    • check you script for hard to pronounce words and practice them
    • record your delivery and listen to it and have someone else listen to it
  • be sure you have a current copy of your script, rewrites occur at any time!
Unlike being on a stage, television and film does not usually require big expressions and movements. Depending on whether you are wide or closeup, will determain the range of your motion and the depth of your delivery
rehearse, rehearse, REHEARSE!!!!!!!
