information

A Location Scout is done in pre-production in order to secure locations and get permission for being able to shoot in a particular place, at a particular time. At each location, the director, camera person, lighting director, sound person, and others can workout potential problems that need to be solved for a successful shoot. (can you get the shot for the film?)

If permission needs to be acquired, then finding out who needs to be contacted with a letter asking for permission (the film company must acquire a signature). Information like when, where, what and how the film company intends to use the location must be in the letter. The letter should be with the available on the set on shoot day.
